In the interview, Ramona talks about her studies and her move to Havana. She recalls her first job and her first engagement. Her mother joins the conversation. When she does, she talks about her work, the duties of a homemaker and recalls some revolutionary fights. Then Ramona talks about her back problems and medical leave. She describes her work in the agricultural cooperatives and the incentives she has received based on production. Ramona discusses the Santeria festivities. Finally, she discusses what the Revolution means to her and the changes she would make to improve the revolutionary process

En la entrevista, Ramona dialoga sobre sus estudios y su mudanza hacia La Habana. Recuerda su primer trabajo y su primer noviazgo. Su madre se incorpora a la conversación. Cuando lo hace, dialoga sobre su trabajo, las labores de un ama de casa y recuerda algunos combates revolucionarios. Luego, Ramona habla de sus problemas de espalda y sobre licencias médicas. Biographical / historical:

Ramona nació en 1970 en Santiago de Cuba. Tuvo ocho hermanos. Su familia desciende de inmigrantes jamaiquinos. En 1987, se mudó a La Habana, donde estudió para ser técnica veterinaria. En 1988, comenzó a trabajar en una cooperativa agropecuaria en San José de Las Lajas. Desde entonces, ha trabajado en diferentes cooperativas agropecuarias estatales. Ramona padece de sacrolumbalgia y tiene una hernia discal en su columna, lo que le ha impedido trabajar en varias ocasiones. Tuvo una hija. Ramona fue entrevistada para el proyecto que culminó en la publicación del libro How Things Fall Apart. El nombre es un seudónimo para el proyecto

Ramona was born in 1970 in Santiago de Cuba. She had eight siblings. Her family descends from Jamaican immigrants. In 1987, she moved to Havana, where she studied to become a veterinary technician. In 1988, she began working in an agricultural cooperative in San José de Las Lajas. Since then, she has worked in different state agricultural cooperatives. Ramona suffers from lumbago and has a herniated disc in her spine, which has prevented her from working on several occasions. She has a child. Ramona was interviewed for the project that led to the book How Things Fall Apart. The name is a pseudonym for the project
