También desarrolló una afición por el cine y la fotografía. Odielis fue entrevistada para el proyecto que culminó en la publicación del libro How Things Fall Apart. El nombre es un seudónimo para el proyecto

Odielis was born in Oriente, Cuba, in 1959. She moved to Havana with her family when she was five years old. She worked as a clerk in a store selling construction materials. She also developed a love for cinema and photography. Odielis was interviewed for the project that led to the book How Things Fall Apart. The name is a pseudonym for the project
