This collection contains audio recordings for 186 different lectures, which have been digitized and are available online to Columbia affilates (and available to our public in our reading room). While the majority of the recordings are from the GSAPP Wednesday Night Lecture series, there are some recordings from other GSAPP sponosored symposiums, panels, and talks. The recordings are arranged in chronological order, with undated recording listed last. No paper records for this lecture series are included in this collection.

This collection documents the weekly lecture series held at Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture from the early 1970s until the late 1980s. The lectures were typically held in Schermerhorn 501 on Wednesday nights during the fall and spring semester. Speakers would be invited by the Lecture and Exhibitions Committee and speakers included practicing architects, architectural historians and theorists, and well as preservionalists and other figures in the architectural sphere.

You will receive an email from the department within 2-3 business days confirming your request and currently available appointment times. Requests are limited to 8 boxes per day (or equivalent), with a maximum of 5 boxes for off-site materials, 5 folders of drawings, or 5 rolls or tube boxes.
