This series contains AV material including audiocassettes, videocassettes, reels, CDs, and DVDs with recordings of James Cone speaking on Black Theology, and Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X, lecturing on various topics, and participating in interviews, conferences, and events. This series also contains AV material compiled by Cone; information on certain speakers and programs is available in the file listing.

During digitization of materials in this series between 2023 and 2024, duplicate content and content not relating to James Cone was found. Items with duplicate content are kept in the collection as of 2024 for preservation purposes; non-Cone material available elsewhere was deaccessioned, and minimal non-Cone material unavailable elsewhere is noted as "Cone not featured."
