BOUND & GAGGED, a bimonthly hardcopy publication, was a direct outgrowth of The New York Bondage Club ("NYBC"), which Bob Wingate founded in 1984: applicants for membership were asked to answer questionnaires containing essay questions on their bondage experiences (first, best, worst, most intense). Though Wingate began with no ulterior motive for these questionnaires except to learn about potential club members, their responses provided the bulk of material for the first two issues of BOUND & GAGGED.
