Correspondence, published and unpublished manuscripts, photographs, personal documents and ephemera of Klara Izrailevna Lozovskaia (1924-2011).

Biographical / historical:

Klara Izrailevna Lozovskaia (1924-2011), a literary secretary to Kornei Ivanovich Chukovskii, one of the well known Russian children writers. Lozovskaia received her higher education at the Institute of Film in Moscow and spent 17 years working for an ailing writer. After his death she became a curator of his homestead in Peredelkino near Moscow. Her memoir about Chukovskii "Notes of a secretary" considered to be the best written recollections of his last years. In 1989, she immigrated to the United states, lived and died in Boston, MA.

Klara Lozovskaia's name has several spelling variations – she is often referred to as Klara Lozovsky or Klara I. Lozovsky.
