An extraordinary manumission document created by Warner Mifflin, of Delaware, in 1775. There are also two copies of the book "Life and Ancestry of Warner Mifflin" compiled by Hilda Justice, 1905

Biographical / historical:

Warner Mifflin is the grandfather of Sydney Gay's wife, Elizabeth Neall Gay, and an early Quaker abolitionist from Delaware. The Mifflins and the Gay family (of the Sydney Howard Gay papers) eventually became interconnected (Mifflinwas the grandfather of Sydney Gay's wife).
