The collection documents four projects: Amsterdam Houses additions (New York, N.Y.) Curries Woods Restoration (Jersey City, N.J.); Washington Street Urban Renewal (New York, N.Y.) and Wyckoff Houses (Brooklyn, N.Y.).

Herbert Brand Oppenheimer is a New York-based architect. Born in Yonkers in the 1920s, Oppenheimer began his studies in architecture at Black Mountain College in North Carolina (1942-43). His studies were interrupted in 1943 when he was called into active military service. In 1954, Oppenheimer obtained his B.Arch. from Columbia University.
Oppenheimer worked in the firm of Philp Johnson (1957-59) before leaving to establish his own practice Oppenheimer, Brady, and Lehrecke in 1960. By 1968, the firm was known as Oppenheimer, Brady & Associates. In the 1970s, Oppenheimer served as president of the AIA. In 2014, he closed down his practice.
