Series I: Professional Correspondence, 1967-2011: This series is divided into three alphabetically arranged subseries: I.1 General, 1970-2011; I.2 Students, 1967-1992; and I.3 Non-Students, 1974-1991. Subseries I.1 General Correspondence is arranged alphabetically by either organization title or personal surname. I.2 Students, 1967-1992 contains alphabetically arranged correspondence concerning the advisement of individual students about such subjects as dissertation defense, orals and recommendation letters. Subseries I.3 Non-Students, 1974-1991 is arranged alphabetically and contains letters of recommendation for professional colleagues.
