The collection consists of legal papers, invoices, correspondence, project reports, specifications, publicity material and some photographs. Projects represented in the collection include New York Zoological Park / Bronx Zoo, Dallas Zoo, Seneca Park Zoo, Beardsley Zoo (Bridgeport, CT), Norfolk Zoo, Cleveland Zoo, Rochester Zoo, Public School 45 (Brooklyn, NY), Lamberton Conservatory (Rochester, NY), New York Psychiatric Institute Division Laboratories, Morrisville College (Morrisville, NY), and Delaware County Office Building (Dehli, DE).

Hebert W. Riemer was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 24, 1927. He joined the firm of Morris Ketchum, Jr., later becoming a partner. Later he established his own practice out of Great Neck, NY. Many of his commissions were for zoological parks located throughout the United States, most prominately the Dallas Zoo and the Bronx Zoo. His zoo designs often included the use of a monorail for viewing animal exhibits. Riemer died on June 29, 2009.
