This collection consists of administrative papers related to the Centennial Celebration organiziational efforts. The collection is made up of 7 series: Departmental Files, The Making of an Architect, Exhibit, Mapping Project, Interviews, Photos, and Bulletins, Brochures, and Books.

The collection documents the centennial celebration of the Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture and Planning (1881-1981). There were two main parts of this celebration: a public exhibit held at the National Academy of Design from December 9, 1981 – January 30, 1982, and a catalog of this exhibit entitled The Making of an Architect. The exhibit's curator was Richard Oliver.
