Biographical / historical:

Eva Gold is a co-founder and was a co-principal of Research for Action (RFA), a Philadelphia based education research and evaluation group. RFA was structured as a feminist organization with limited hierarchy, which sought to provide women with a balance between work and family. RFA's studies were guided by feminist research methods (paying particular attention to power relations between researchers and subjects) and committed to advancing social change. Gold served as an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania from 2012-2022, where she taught processes of inquiry and data analysis.

In the late 60s and 70s, Gold was an anti-war activist. She and other women who were peace activists began thinking and reading about the role of women in society, considering militarism, class, race, and sexism in relation to patriarchy. Through these involvements, Gold accumulated related ephemera in her home over time, giving rise to this collection.
