This collection contains zine distro and music catalogs, DIY stickers, flyers, clippings, photographs, and t-shirts.

The Zine Distro and Music Catalogs date from the 1990s and early 2000s. Titles include Subway Sissy, Basement Children, Alien Girl, Septophilia Mailorder, Melvin and Earl, Junglegym Zine Distro, Riot Grrrl Press, Alice the Camel, Pass the Buck, Schemegma Gumbo, Red Means Go, Pander Zine Distro, The Power Toot, Kill Rock Stars Catalog, and Outpunk.

There are flyers from riot grrrl chapters in New York City, Connecticut, Orange County, and the Midwest. Of special interest is a flyer of the Riot Grrrl Manifesto.

Also included in the collection is the Winter/Spring 1995 issue of Bust. Of note is a review of a single episode of the 1990s television series, My So-Called Life.

The photographs include images of a Kathleen Hanna art show, and a photograph of a shrine dedicated to former Excuse 17, Sleater-Kinney, and Wild Flag guitarist/vocalist, Carrie Brownstein.

The t-shirts feature punk and feminist slogans, and also includes a shirt with the logo of the band The Cold Cold Hearts, which featured memebers of the riot grrrl band Bratmobile.

Biographical / historical:

Staten Island based zinester, Lauren Jade Martin, began writing zines while she was in high school in the 1990s, and continued writing as a student at Bard College. Her zines include Boredom Sucks, Quantify, Princess Charming, You Might As Well Live, and the compilation zine, Hard as Nails. Topics addressed include riot grrrl, feminism, homophobia, and pop culture.
