The Barnard Zine Collective (formerly known as the Barnard Zine Club) was founded in 2010 by a student named Jennie Halperin. During its earlier years, the Barnard Zine Club existed about the Barnard club sphere, refusing affiliation and operating idependently.
The Barnard Zine Collective (BZC) is a club for creating zines and also providing a space for Barnard and Columbia affiliates to make zines and learn more about zine culture. Each semester, they compile a zine, called "Sticks and Stones", of the members' pages and art. Some of the previous themes were on questions and answers, scaries and sads, the apocalpyse, maps, and parties. The z Once or twice a month, they hold workshops where students can make pages inspired by the semester's theme.
