This collection contains two scrapbooks of photographs, pamphlets, reports, and newspaper clippings related Barnard College students' participation in Junior Month.

Junior Month was a summer project in sociological theory and practice founded in 1917 and supervised by the Charity Organization Society of New York City. In a one month period juniors from twelve eastern colleges attended lectures and performed case work in New York City, visiting neighborhoods, factories, courts and other locations. Colleges participating were: Barnard, Bryn Mawr, Connecticut College, Elmira, Goucher, Mt. Holyoke, Radcliffe, Smith, Swarthmore, Vassar, Wells and Wellesley. Barnard first participated in the program in 1921. Barnard suspended its participation during the 1930's.
