Scope and content:

The collection consists of foldered pages from a scrapbook dating from 1935 to 1948. Materials include invitations to faculty, alumnae, and board members for dinners and events; tickets to events; pleas for donations and announcements of donation acceptances; announcements about the establishment of new programs and the unveiling of new buildings; and publicity brochures for recruitment purposes.

Material is from the President's office, departmental offices, individual faculty members, and the Public Relations office. Many of the brochures contain candid and formal photographs of student life at Barnard. At the bottom of many of the scrapbook pages are notes of the printer used, number of copies, and total cost of the bulletins and invitations.

Notable pieces in the collection are a 1948 informational leaflet about Barnard College, the backside of which is printed with a detailed map of Manhattan from that time, and a 1947 brochure on "Education in Health and Physical Recreation" which features the archery team and the Barnard Camp in Westchester.
