This collection consists of correspondance, memorabilia, financial papers, and photographs of Barnard alum and Board of Trustees member Martha Hollister Boynton Wheeler. The collection includes correspondance between friends, employees, family, and board members. Also included in the collection are condolences received upon her death. Memorabilia included in the collection pertains to various facets of Mrs. Wheeler life such as her time as a St. Agatha's student, Barnard student, her Macy's career, and her travels around Europe. The collection also includes photographs and newspaper clippings.
Of particular interest is a photograph book created posthumously by her son Maynard Wheeler which details her accomplishments and includes a timeline of her life.

Martha Hollister Boynton Wheeler was born in Manhattan in 1904. She attended St. Agatha's School and went on to study at Barnard College. After graduating Barnard, Wheeler became a buyer for women's accessories at Macy's Department Store until 1937. She also managed her husband's medical practice.
Wheeler was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution New York City Chapter, the Holland Dames, the Cosmopolitan Club, and the Barnard College Board of Trustees. She passed away in 1985.
