This collection contains three bound books of the Committee on Admissions materials from 1900-1947 which include meeting minutes, committee reports, correspondence about admissions with the Office of the Dean (the former title of the Barnard College President), and lists of accepted and rejected students. From 1947 onwards, the committee materials are unbound and in folders.

The Committee on Admissions made recommendations to the President on matters relating to admissions policies like on the composition of the student body and recruitment. The Committee on Admissions is a tripartite committee comprised of both faculty, administrative staff, and students.
