The films in this series were preserved and transferred to Beta and VHS tape with the assistance of a grant from the Women's Film Preservation Fund of the New York Women in Film and Television, Inc. in 2002. In addition to these transfers, which are included in this series, digitized transfers of the majority of the films exist and may be requested from the Archives at archives@barnard.edu.

This series contains recordings on 8mm and 16mm film as well as video transfers of the recordings. The recordings include promotional films and documentaries produced about Barnard, footage of classes and class trips, footage of Greek Games and athletics events, instructional physical education films, films created by students showing campus life, and recordings of campus events. Annie Nathan Meyer, Dean Virginia C. Gildersleeve, and Dr. Agnes R. Wayman are among the people depicted in the films.

- Permission to publish material from the collection must be requested from the Barnard Archives and Special Collections.
