This collection contains a scrapbook chronicling the life of Nan Johnson BC '52 during her time at Barnard College. Located in the scrapbook are letters from the administration regarding scholarship awards and programs, photos, newspaper clippings regarding Greek Games from 1950, social and political activities, and graduation festivities. It also includes wedding invitations and Playbills of theatre productions from 1949-1952. The collection also includes a folder of material related to the political activities of the alumna working on women's rights issues post graduation. This folder contains a bumper sticker, programs, newsletters, copies of newspaper clippings, and a floppy disc (marked Gildersleeve nomination - files not accessible as of date of Finding Aid).

Nan Johnson, formerly Nancy Jean Heffelfinger, is a member of the Barnard Class of 1952. Following her time at Barnard, Johnson became a county legislator, a trustee of the State University of New York, the Founding Director of the Susan B. Anthony University Center at the University of Rochester, and the Founding President of Friends of Women's Rights National Historical Park, Inc. In 2008 she established the Nan Johnson Legacy Project endowment fund to provide internships for the Women's Rights National Historical Park in Seneca Falls, NY.
