Scope and content:

Florence G. Sammet Rothschild was a Barnard College student and correspondent to the Evening Mail and the Globe newspapers. Her scrapbook contains clippings of her writing on events and life at Barnard during the year 1908.

Of particular interest are her articles describing a talk given by Socialist advocate Mrs. Rose Pastor Phelps-Stokes and visits from Suffragists hoping to recruit Barnard women to the cause. The scrapbook also contains numerous write-ups of plays and social gatherings that took place at Barnard College during the year 1908, including a minstrel show put on by Barnard College women. Some clippings are dated personally by Rothschild.
