- This collection consists of materials from Reacting to the Past (RTTP). RTTP consists of elaborate games, set in the past, in which students are assigned roles informed by classic texts in the history of ideas.

The collection contains material that documents the history of the Reacting to the Past program at Barnard College. Included in this collection are: student recruitment flyers, pamphlets introducing the concepts behind RTTP, a paper by Steven Stroessner and Laurie Susser about RTTP, and an article from the Chronicle of Higher Education about RTTP and Mark C. Carnes. Also included in the collection is a program (2008) that contains the following information: an overview of the program and details about the rules of the games, course requirements, curriculum covered by the program, games in development, and feedback from various RTTP participants.
