Scope and content:: This collection consists of minutes, correspondence, and agendas. There are no complete meeting minutes; the bulk of the materials are projects submitted to the review board for review.
Biographical / historical:: The Institutional Review Board (IRB) is responsible for reviewing all research proposals involving human subjects conducted by Barnard College faculty, staff, and students, ensuring ethical and regulatory compliance.

Processing information:: In July 2025, a student associate, Bailey Anderson, wrote the historical summary. In September 2025, Olivia Newsome processed this collection.
Acquisition information:: The materials were transferred from the Provost Office in 2024.
Arrangement:: This collection is arranged at the file level. Additionally, the archivist completed high-level physical rearrangement to allow the digital materials to be easily integrated into a single system of arrangement. The archivist placed the digital documents, at the highest directory level, into a new folder with a new file name.
Accruals:: Additions are expected.
