Collection consists of two letters, five essays, and one photograph. The essays are reminiscences of such topics as a World War I battle, the Corps of Cadets, Imperial hunts, and World War II. Photograph of Kiev Corps of Cadets (Kievskii kadetskii korpus).

Included are Gershun's manuscript memoirs, entitled "Vospominanii︠a︡ russkogo advokata" (843 p.), covering the 1890s to 1918; manuscripts and typescript of a work entitled "Essai sur la Profession dʹAdvocat"; a letter; two printed items which concern Gershun, and some newspaper clippings.

Correspondence, manuscripts and printed materials of Boris Petrovich Vysheslavtsev. There are letters from Nikolai Berdiaev, Carl Jung, Anton Kartashev, Konstantin Korovin, Jacques Maritain, Aleksei Remizov, Grigol Robakidze, Theodore Strawinsky, and Ariadna Tyrkova-Williams. The manuscripts include essays and lectures on various topics including the Orthodox church, Russian literature and culture, philosophy, and the hereafter. There are numerous diaries, primarily from the 1930's and 1940's. The printed materials include clippings, off-prints, and various journals and books.

Manuscripts, subject files, index cards, printed materials and microfilms relating to the CATALOGUS TRANSLATIONUM ET COMMENTARIORUM. The two manuscripts are contemporary and deal with the letters of St. Basil. The subject files include correspondence, notes, and printed materials providing largely biographical information on a wide range of medieval translators and commentators. The index cards list the present day locations of many relevant medieval and renaissance books and manuscripts. The printed materials include photostatic copies and negatives of medieval texts as well as catalog listings of and articles about these texts and their authors. The microfilms, some of which are negatives, are of some of the relevant medieval and renaissance works

Correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, audio cassettes, and printed materials. Three items consisting of a nine page autograph poem entitled "The Light Touch"; a collection of short poems written in five small notebooks called "From the Sublime"; and a printed pamphlet of poetry entitled "Modern Haiku and Tanka". All items were prepared during 1971, but several pieces in "From the Sublime" date back to 1956. A sixth notebook dated 1971-1972 for "From the Sublime" is also included. Keppel writes one notebook each month and forwards them to the collection after they are completed. There are a few cataloged letters in Box 1, but the bulk of the collection consists of Keppel's poetry and essays.

A group of letters and manuscripts of Morley. The five letters are to various persons. Among the manuscripts are an early poem"The Flags on Fifth Avenue" (1916); an essay entitled "In the Steerage of the Lusitania;" a one-act play entitled "On the Shelf;" and a 1941 revision of Shakespeare's TEMPEST.

Correspondence, subject files, manuscripts and printed materials documenting the work of C. Martin Wilbur, George Sansom Professor Emeritus of Chinese History, Columbia University. Correspondence with non-Columbia organizations includes the Institute of Pacific Relations, Far Eastern Association, INDUSCO, Council on Foreign Relations, Asia Foundation, and American Council of Learned Societies, among others. Subject files relevant to Columbia University include items pertaining to the Department of Chinese and Japanese, later renamed the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures, as well as teaching files, student files and research projects directed. The manuscript files contain the notes and, in some cases, printed copies of published and unpublished works and public talks. Wilbur's writings and research concentrate on the history and politics of twentieth century China, with emphasis on the Chinese Revolution, 1920-1929, Sun Yat-sen, and communism in China. There are translations of minutes for the first and second Kuomintang Congresses, copies of documents from the Kuomintang Archives, and photographs of members of the Young China Party, Sun Yat-sen and several historical events in the 1920s. Files on fund raising efforts for the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures and the Wellington Koo Fellowship also contain relevant correspondence. Correspondence and manuscripts of various literary figures, occasionally brought for this library by the Friends of the Columbia University Libraries. Authors include William Harrison Ainsworth, Augustine Birrell, Thomas Campbell, James Fenimore Cooper, Clement Clarke Moore, Carl Sandburg, A. C. Swinburne, Dylan Thomas, Anthony Trollope, and Talcott Williams.

Correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, and printed materials of Lamont. Letters from George Santayana (1863-1952), with Lamont and others, a few early manuscripts, interviews and other notes on Santayana, and general correspondence about him. A series of letters from John Dewey to Lamont, discussing his ideas on humanism and religion. Extensive correspondence with the family of John Masefield including approximately 100 letters from Judith Masefield to Lamont, primarily written shortly after the death in 1967 of her father the poet John Masefield, and dealing with his life and work. Also, a few of her own writings; a number of the letters are descriptive of historical England and her concern for contemporary events. Among the letters from other family members are fifteen from Lamont's nephew, Jack Masefield, and 53 from his cousin Sir Peter G. Masefield, 1970-1983, conveying news about Judith as well as interest in the publication of John Masefield's letters from the World War I years and their continuing appreciation of Lamont's work on Masefield. There is discussion on the publication of Masefield's letters to Corliss' mother, Florence Lamont, printed in 1979.

Manuscripts collected by David J. Dallin consists of autobiographical essays in English and Russian by Soviet displaced persons, discussing their lives in the USSR and why they chose not to return there. There are also essays in English telling the stories of Soviet displaced persons from the point of view of another unidentified narrator. Also included is a letter dated 2 Aug. 1943 from Povilas Zadeikis, a representative of Lithuania in the United States in 1934 – 1957.
