The papers consist of correspondence, manuscripts, subject files, and printed materials. Correspondence includes letters by Vladimir Kokovt︠s︡ov, and letters concerning the posthumous publication of Kryzhanovskiĭ's memoirs. Manuscripts include drafts of these memoirs and other items by Kryzhanovskiĭ. There are also manuscripts, chiefly memoirs, by other persons; most were evidently sent to Kryzhanovskiĭ as editor of the emigre journal "Russkai︠a︡ Letopis"́ in the 1920s, but were never published. They deal with such topics as the Imperial police and government and the 1917 Revolution and the Civil War. There is a large group of manuscripts and related printed items, evidently prepared by Kryzhanovskiĭ, on the projected governmental system of a post-Bolshevik Russia. Subject files deal with the 1917 Revolution, emigre monarchism, and other topics.

Plotnikov's handwritten memoir "Nikolaevskoe Inzhenernoe Uchilishche, zhizn' i tvorchestvo" is in part based on his recollections of three years spent as a cadet at the Nikolai Engineering School (Nikolaevskoe Inzhenernoe Uchilishche) in St. Petersburg in the early 1890s. He discusses in detail the academic, social, moral and religious life of the students, describes the organization of the school and talks about the teaching staff, administrators and alumni.

Correspondence and financial and organizational records that relate to the Obʺshchestvo Bystrai︠a︡ Pomoshch.́ Most of the materials, including correspondence from aid petitioners or recipients or other organizations, and financial records, reports, date from 1945-1947.

The collection of printed materials consists of eighteen boxes of newspaper clippings, oversize clippings and various newspaper letters and flyers. The clippings cover the 1920-1975 period and deal with topics including: World War II, Soviet affairs, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Russian literature, Asian affairs and such individuals as Stalin, Khrushchev, Solzhenit︠s︡yn and Sakharov. There are newsletters from the St. Sergius High School and the Tolstoy Foundation as well as a number of pamphlets on East European affairs.

Collection includes Dvigubskiĭ's memoirs of his experiences as a military cadet; the service record of General Mikhail A. Davydov (b. 1837); an inscribed photograph of the composer Aleksandr P. Borodin, and photographs of "Russian types" from about the turn of the century.

Correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, documents, subject files and printed materials of Sergei Grigor'evich Svatikov (1878/1880?-1942), Russian lawyer, historian, publicist, and public figure. The correspondence includes letters from Mark Aldanov, Vladimir Burtsev, Ivan Efremov, Georgii Grebenshchikov, Grigorii Lozinskii, Sergei Mel'gunov, Nikolai Rubakin, George Vernadsky and Mark Vishniak. There is a notebook that belonged to Vera Zasulich. Among the photographs are pictures of Prince Adam Jerzy Czartoryski, Sergei Mel'gunov, and Aleksander Wielopolski. The manuscripts include several by Svatikov as well as many notes, lists and bibliographical compendia relating to his oeuvre. The subject files cover such areas as the Russian Reading Hall in Heidelberg, the Turgenev Library in Paris, and the Russkii akademicheskii soiuz (Groupe academique russe), also in Paris. The printed materials include clippings, materials from the Institute d'ʹetudes slaves, and a number of books by Svatikov.

One manuscript, entitled "Vesna ne pridet" (20 p.), chiefly concerns his efforts to get permission to emigrate. The other"I v Khrista i v Boga" (45 p.) disagrees with Aleksandr Solzhenit︠s︡yn's views on the relation between Russia and Communism.

Correspondence, manuscripts, photographs and subject files of Witte. The correspondents include Ivan S. Aksakov, Tsar Aleksander III, Tsar Nicholas II, Konstantin P. Pobedonost︠s︡ev, I︠U︡riĭ Samarin, Lev N. Tolstoĭ and Kaiser Wilhelm II. The manuscripts, which constitute over half of the collection, consist of Witte's memoirs and of his work on the Russo-Japanese War, and include a signed typescript essay by Lev N. Tolstoĭ. The photographs depict the signing of the Portsmouth Treaty ending the Russo-Japanese War (Portsmouth, N.H.). The subject files, which are primarily typescript copies of documents, refer to such topics as the various assassination attempts on the tsars, questions of agrarian reform, relations with Germany, and the siege of Port Arthur. There is also a framed pen and ink drawing depicting an event in Witte's public career.

The collection consists primarily of manuscripts and clippings of articles and stories Bel'deninov wrote in the 1950s and 1960s and published in such emigre periodicals as "Russkii Put'", "Nashe Vremia" and "Rossiia". Several memoirs by Bel'deninov touch on such topics as his education in Irkutsk and St. Petersburg, his legal practice before and during the revolutionary period, and the Civil War in Siberia.
