Correspondence, manuscripts, biographical and printed materials. The first series contains a small amount of personal and professional correspondence from the 1940s to 1970s, manuscripts of poetry and of theses and research papers from Berl's graduate studies at Leipzig and Columbia, biographical materials including photographs, reminiscences by and about Berl, and a few documents from his early years in Germany. The second and larger series includes papers which were posthumously arranged for publication by Susan Leibtag. The bulk of these writings are on topics related to psychology and social welfare, with a small number on philosophy and on Jewish identity as it relates to social work.

Printed materials (newsletters, broadsides, newspapers, pamphlets, handbills), ephemera, and letters documenting activities of the French Resistance and the Communist Party of France. Includes broadside newspapers from August 1944, when Paris was liberated from the German army.

These German World War II photographs are from the archives of the Reichsbahnzentrale für den Deutschen Reiseverkehr, Berlin. Most of the photographs have German and/or French captions. There are photographs from the Soviet Union, France, and North Africa; some also show German and other Axis generals and high officials. They appear to be press and publicity photographs.

Knopf and Oxford University Press; with his literary agent Curtis Brown, Ltd.; with HORIZON MAGAZINE, as chairman of its Advisory Editorial Board; with the Book-of-the-Month Club, as a Judge; with Encyclopedia Britannica Sound Seminars; correspondence concerning his very popular syndicated radio talks; and letters from his readers, ranging from members of women's literary clubs to headmasters of British secondary schools.

This collection includes original and reprographic architectural drawings, project files, photographs, correspondence, and professional papers related to preservation architect Giorgio Cavaglieri's architectural work, professional associations, and writings.
