Heinrich Emil Brunner (1889-1966); Hines fellow at UTS, 1919-1920, Swiss Reform pastor in Obstalden, Switzerland, and Professor at the University of Zurich. The collection consists of correspondence between Brunner and Olive Dutcher-Doggett, who was Professor of Biblical History at Wellesley College.

The Dan Talbot Papers document the business operation of the New Yorker Films, an independent film acquisition and distribution company, dating from 1960s to 2008, as well as movie theaters in the Upper West Side Manhattan which he operated, dating from 1960 to 2007. It is of particular relevance to New Yorkers as the Talbots operated the New Yorker Theater, Cinema Studio, Metro, and Lincoln Plaza Cinemas, on the Upper West Side, as popular venues to view independent and foreign films.

Correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, memorabilia, and printed materials primarily concerning biochemistry. Correspondents include 24 Nobel Prize winners, including Otto Loewi, Otto Meyerhof, Archibald Vivian Hill, Feodor Lynes, Severo Ochoa, and Otto Warburg. Other correspondents include Sir Hans Krebs, John Farquhar Fulton, Jean Pierre Changeux, and others in Europe, Israel, Japan, and the USSR as well as the USA. Nachmansohn's concern with the place of Jews in science appears throughout the collection, especially in material concerning the Weismann Institute and other academic institutions to which he belonged. There are photographs of colleagues, many signed and inscribed during his many trips. The printed materials consist chiefly of Nachmanson's published works beginning with his 1927 doctoral dissertation (University of Berlin) and continuing throughout his professional life at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute (1926-1930), the Sorbonne (1933-1939), Yale University (1939-1942), and Columbia University (1942-1982).

Photographs and architectural drawings of Lienau's work, much of it in New York City and in New Jersey. Projects include the Gardner A. Sage Library for the General Theological Seminary in New Brunswick, N.J.; the Francis Cottenet Villa in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.; a house for Legrand Lockwood in South Norwalk, Conn., later owned by Mark Twain and now known as the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion; and the Telfair Academy of Arts and Sciences in Savannah, Ga. Also included are drawings of unidentified or unexecuted buildings; student drawings, and early European commissions; lecture notes, 1835-1837, from the Stadtische Gewerbeschule, Berlin; a partial list of of Lienau's work, 1848-1886; specifications; acounts; printed material; photographs, postcards, and prints showing various European buildings; clippings; certificates; typescripts of articles; and correspondence.

Philip Schaff (1819-1893) was a theologian, church historian, ecumenist, and Union Theological Seminary professor. Schaff was president of the American Bible Revision Committee, which he organized in 1871 at the request of the British Committee on Bible Revision. The collection contains correspondence, including from the American Bible Revision Committee and the British Committee on Bible Revision; notes and lectures; diaries; and scrapbooks and memorabilia, including a photograph album.

The collection consists of primary source material (correspondence, photographs, administrative files) related to the life and activities of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a Lutheran theologian, professor, and member of the German resistance. Includes unique material related to Bonhoeffer's residence at Union Theological Seminary in 1930-1931, such as transcripts, correspondence, and Bonhoeffer's "Deceased Alumnus file" a collection transferred from the UTS Alumnae/i Office. Other highlights include: photographs of Bonhoeffer and the concentration camp at Flossenburg where he was imprisoned; remembrances of Bonhoeffer (correspondence and articles) by his friends and family (mostly copies of originals from Princeton Theological Seminary and the National Lutheran Council); and Bonhoeffer's correspondence with Richard Ern and his family from 1930-1931; Gift Books inscibed by Bonhoeffer and an account by Paul Buesing of his study and contact with Bonhoeffer at the Finkelwalde Seminary.

Some diplomas found in this collection were awarded to Columbia-related individuals by other institutions. Correspondence directly related to some of these honors can also be found in this collection.
