This subseries contains correspondence and materials from Singleton's time at Yale University as a student until his time as a composer in residence. Much of the correspondence is between Singleton and the Dean of the School of Music at his time of attendance, Philip F. Nelson. While a student at Yale, Singleton participated in two study abroad programs, one in Italy at the Academy of St. Cecilia, as a Fulbright Cultural exchange and the other in Austria at the University of Graz. Includes the course materials from the course Singleton taught at Yale at the Composer in Residence in 1999 entitled "Improvisational Structures in American Music."
