The collection consists of manuscripts, drawings and printed materials. The manuscripts include an album of drawings by Mushketov entitled "Istorii︠a︡ drevnego Smolenska" with an accompanying explanatory text, and a biography of Mushketov by N. Mushketova. There is an icon of St. Paul, a copy of a 15th century work from Novgorod apparently by M.A. Korsunskorpis.́ Printed materials consist mostly of clippings about Mushketov and his work.

Collection includes 67 letters and telegrams, by Alexander's older brother Nikolaĭ; 65 letters and notes, some copies, by Nicholas II, from 1902-1913; a drawing and notes by Alexander III; and drafts of letters by Meshcherskiĭ. Also included is a group of letters in different hands hitherto identified as having been written by Nikolaĭ, Duke of Leuchtenberg, to Meshcherskiĭ.

Correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, drawings and subject files primarily relating to Vladimir Visson's years as exhibitions director of the Wildenstein Gallery. The extensive subject files concern the Hallmark Art Award and exhibitions Visson mounted for the Wildenstein Gallery including shows on Gauguin, Pissarro, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec and Van Gogh. Also included are Visson's original manuscripts on Russian painters and autobiographical writings. There is correspondence from artists including Eugene Berman, Amédée Ozenfant and Eugene Speicher, and authors such as John Gunther, Paul van Zeeland and Louis Auchincloss.

Vserossiiskii Zemskii Soiuz Records, 1916-1945

Correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs, subject files, drawings and printed material of the Vserossiiskii zemskii soiuz (All Russian Zemstvo Union). The correspondence, spanning the years 1920-1944, is for the most part addressed to Porfirii N. Sorokin, Executive Secretary of the organization's Vremennyi glavnyi komitet (Temporary Executive Committee), the coordinating unit for all the institutions of the Zemstvo Union. The manuscripts include writings by N. I. Astrov, V. D. Kuz'min-Karavaev, and others. The documents are almost exclusively minutes of the Temporary Executive Committee's meetings from the period 1919-1924. The photographs, for the most part unidentified, are of Russian refugee settlements and White Army encampments in the area of Constantinople and Gallipoli, ca. 1921. The subject files include some financial records, and the printed material include the Vserossiiskii zemskii soiuz bulletin from 1916-1921 as well as publications about the Rossiiskii Zemsko-gorodskoi komitet and the Vserossiiskii soiuz gorodov.

Letters, manuscripts, galley proofs, page proofs, art works, and printed materials of Auden, including three postcards to Geoffrey Grigson, one of which relates to galley proofs for Auden's poems included in THE YEAR'S POETRY, 1937. There are manuscripts, galley proofs, and page proofs of COLLECTED SHORTER POEMS 1927-1957 (Faber and Faber, 1966) all of which contain his corrections in ink. The manuscript of the book is comprised of typewritten and printed pages, which taken together are a mock-up of the entire book. Also, a pencil sketch of Auden by Terry Durham, a silkscreen portrait by Meyer F. Lieberman, and a portrait head cast by Olaf de Wett. There is also the manuscript and proofs of MARKINGS by Dag Hammarskjöld, translated from the Swedish by Leif Sjöberg and W.H. Auden; the libretto and score of PAUL BUNYAN by Auden and Britten; five letters from Auden to Norman Loftis criticizing Loftis' poetry; two letters from Auden to Patrick Anthony Lawlor; and four letters from Auden to Olive Mangeot.

Correspondence, manuscripts, documents, financial records, photographs, drawings, engravings, and printed materials of Benjamin. The personal and business papers concern Benjamin's publishing and bookselling company, his numerous benefactions, the disposal of his collections, and many printed catalogs for his company, 1883-1940. The two major correspondents are the business and financial records for the printing, binding, and extensive promotion through a network of agents of Stedman's A LIBRARY OF AMERICAN LITERATURE FROM THE EARLIEST SETTLEMENT TO THE PRESENT TIME; new ed. (New York, W.E. Benjamin, 1894). There are also letters, manuscripts, documents, and drawings of English literary figures collected by Benjamin. Among these are six letters of George Eliot, 47 letters and six manuscripts of John Ruskin, and three letters and one manuscript of Joseph Mallord Turner, with four letters relating to the artist. In addition there ten drawings and watercolors by Ruskin.
