The materials that comprise the Historical Biographical Files have been collected and added to from a variety of sources over the years by current and previous staff. The files consist of materials related to people who have a connection to the University whether as student, alumni, administrator, faculty, staff, guest lecturer, or honorary degree recipient. Materials generally consist of newspaper and magazine clippings, press releases, programs, ephemera, printed matter, lists, reports, and pamphlets.

Poli︠a︡nin's typescript and manuscript memoirs concern his military experiences in World War I, and the emigration in Bulgaria between the wars. In Bulgaria Poli︠a︡nin worked with the Russkai︠a︡ Akademicheskai︠a︡ Gruppa (Russian Academic Group) and the Obʺedinennye Komitety Soi︠u︡z Gorodov i Zemstv (United Committees of the Union of Cities and Zemstva). Also included are newspaper clippings and a theatre program on silk (Feodosii︠a︡, 1903).

Correspondence, research notes, articles, clippings, photostats, and photographs. These files concern his interest in Pierre Bayle, Antoine Arlier, and the Renaissance in Provence, as well as the Romanic Review, philology, French, Spanish, and celtic studies. Among the correspondents are: Philippe Berthelot, Nicholas Murray Butler, F.R. Coudert, John H. Finley, the Prince de Ligne, Curtis Hidden Page, William B. Parsons, and Aime ́Puech.

This is a small collection of exhibition catalogs, clippings, articles, photographs, and a few items of correspondence concerning the artist Lovis Corinth, assembled by his son, Thomas Corinth, who donated it to the Avery Library.

Correspondence, manuscripts, documents, memorabilia, pictures, portraits, and printed material. Included are about 800 letters from outstanding literary figures of Mr. Conway's lifetime, manuscripts of his sermons, lectures and other writings and photostats of Conway material in Dickinson College Library. Among the cataloged correspondents are: Thomas Carlyle, S.L. Clemens, Arthur Conan Doyle, R.W. Emerson, O.W. Holmes, and Walt Whitman

The collection consists of correspondence, a manuscript of the P.O.W. journal "Alibudér" in France, a subject file on the Turgenev Library, documents, picture postcards, and printed materials. Correspondence consists of letters and postcards to and from Palćhevskiĭ. There is one letter from Vladimir Burt︠s︡ev. Documents are Palćhevskiĭ's and include passports and affidavits, mostly from France. Picture postcards are primarily on historical topics. Printed materials include mainly clippings and programs. Cataloged letters are from Vladimir Burt︠s︡ev and Sergeĭ Svatikov.
