Letters written by Charity Clarke Moore and one letter and a diary written by her son Clement Clarke Moore. Charity Moore's letters range in date from 1767 to 1834 and were written to her sister, Lady Mary Clarke Vassal Affleck and other members of her family and friends. They are personal in nature dealing with family affairs and day to day events. Of the same character is Clement Moore's letter which was written to his cousin, Lady Mary Elizabeth Fox Powys Lilford in November 1840. The diary contains brief entries from 20 November 1856 to 8 July 1863, two days before his death. It is mainly a record of the weather, the temperature, and his benefactions. The letters are all mounted on the blank leaves of one volume and the diary occupies a second volume. Also included are nine volumes from the library of Benjamin Moore.

Cross's papers consist of a diary and a series of letters written chiefly to wife Elaine during his residence in China and while en route. The letters to his wife from Chungking were numbered seriatim and are arranged in chronological order per the numbering by Cross on the envelopes, most of which are present. The chronological order refers to the dates written; the letters were often posted or received well after composition. One or two are missing, were withdrawn, or contain a numbering error.

This collection consists of four bound volumes: a handwritten preface, two full manuscripts on the summer cruises of 1886 and 1887, and a transcription of the manuscript of the 1886 cruise. The volumes relate the events of the Columbia College Canoe Club's 6-week summer cruises on Lake George, Lake Champlain, Richelieu River, St. Lawrence River, and Thousand Islands in summer 1886. In summer 1887, the Canoe Club had a permanent camp at Little Harbor Island, Lake George.

The Margaret Kimmel travel diary recounts her struggle, and that of other American tourists, to return to the US as Germany launched its attack on Poland on September 1, 1939. Written mostly in pencil, the leather-bound, pocket-sized diary includes entries related to her everyday affairs (sights, meals, weather), the growing signs of war, and the complicated logistics for the return to New York. It includes an address book in the back with the names of Kimmel's new acquientances and, for many, how much she had borrowed and had to repay upon her return.

In this manuscript diary, the then-recently retired former Columbia College president and former Trustee, Nathaniel Fish Moore records part of his trip to England in 1851. On the cover, Moore calls it "Visit to England etc., Volume 3rd." It includes entries from Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh, Paris, London, Liverpool, etc.
